Details for a rotation quote
- Vehicle model, mileage and when the tires were last rotated.
- Whether front and rear tire sizes match.
- Directional tire markings and any existing wear, pressure or vibration concern.
- The applicable vehicle/tire guidance and any related checks included in the quote.
When to ask about rotation
- A rotation is due under your vehicle or tire maintenance guidance.
- The current set has not been rotated recently.
- Uneven wear needs assessment before deciding whether rotation alone is appropriate.
What affects your quote?
Ask for an itemized quote based on your vehicle and the work needed.
- Vehicle and tire setup, including size differences between axles.
- Removal, repositioning and refitting requirements.
- Any additional assessment, balancing or other service agreed separately.
The uneven tire-wear guide explains why existing wear needs assessment. If you also notice shaking at road speed, discuss tire balancing separately; moving tires does not replace that procedure.

Common questions
Is rotation the same as a seasonal tire change?
No. Rotation changes the positions of tires within the current set. A seasonal change replaces that set with another seasonal set.
How often should my tires be rotated?
Use the schedule for your vehicle and tires. Share your mileage and maintenance history so the appropriate timing can be discussed; one interval does not fit every setup.
Can every tire set use the same pattern?
No. Directional designs, different front/rear sizes and vehicle requirements can limit the pattern. The setup should be checked before tires are moved.
Does tire rotation include balancing or alignment?
They are separate procedures. Rotation changes tire positions, balancing addresses wheel-and-tire weight distribution, and alignment concerns wheel angles. Ask which work your quote includes, especially if you have vibration or uneven wear.
