What an off-rim changeover quote should cover
- Compatibility of the vehicle, tires and wheels.
- Removing existing tires and mounting the replacement set where required.
- Balancing the mounted wheel-and-tire assemblies.
- Valve or sensor requirements, wheel installation and old-tire disposal where applicable.
When your seasonal tires share one wheel set
- Your next seasonal set consists of loose tires rather than complete wheel assemblies.
- You want winter tires removed and summer or all-season tires fitted to the same wheels.
- You are transferring tires to another compatible set of wheels and need fitment checked.
What affects your quote?
Ask for an itemized quote based on your vehicle and the work needed.
- Tire and wheel dimensions, tire construction and vehicle requirements.
- The number of tires and whether existing tires need removal.
- Balancing, valves or sensors, disposal and any separate wheel repair.
Check the seasonal changeover guide if you are unsure which setup you have. Mention any warning light or new wheel sensors when asking about TPMS service alongside the fitting quote.

Common questions
Is mounting the same as balancing?
No. Mounting fits a tire onto a compatible wheel. Balancing corrects uneven weight distribution in the assembled wheel and tire. Ask whether both are included in the service quote.
Is wheel alignment included?
Alignment is a separate service that adjusts wheel angles. It does not perform the same job as balancing. Ask about alignment if your vehicle pulls or has uneven tire wear.
Can I bring tires purchased elsewhere?
Call before bringing tires bought online or elsewhere. Share their size, construction and condition, plus your vehicle and wheel details. The shop can confirm acceptance, fitment and the fitting quote for that particular set.
Do I need mounting if my second set already has wheels?
Usually you are looking for an on-rim seasonal changeover instead. Let the shop know that the second set is already assembled so the request is quoted correctly.
