Common questions
Does this replace an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate?
A pre-purchase inspection reviews vehicle condition under an agreed scope. Ontario’s Safety Standards Certificate is a separate inspection through a licensed DriveON centre. Ask separately about certification arrangements.
Can an inspection guarantee there are no hidden faults?
No. Findings reflect the agreed checks and accessible condition at the time. Ask about limitations, any items not checked and whether further investigation is recommended.
Do I need the seller's permission?
Arrange the seller's permission and practical access before booking. Confirm how the vehicle will reach the shop and whether the agreed checks include a road test.
Are history and ownership checks included?
Do not assume they are included in a mechanical inspection. Confirm the exact scope and review the vehicle's history and transaction documents separately before buying.
