Common questions
Does AWD replace the need to consider winter tires?
No. Tire suitability still matters on an AWD vehicle. Discuss a full compatible set for the winter conditions you expect, following the vehicle and tire manufacturer's guidance.
Are winter and all-weather tires the same?
They are different categories. Winter tires are intended for dedicated cold-weather use; all-weather models aim at year-round use with severe-snow capability. Compare the actual model and markings for your needs.
Can I reuse my existing winter tires?
Have their condition and fitment assessed before reinstalling them. Include any prior damage, pressure loss or unusual wear when contacting the shop.
Do I need four winter tires or just two?
Use a complete compatible set of four for balanced winter handling, following the vehicle and tire maker's guidance. Mixing two winter tires with a different seasonal category can leave unequal traction between axles. AWD does not remove the need to choose suitable tires.
